Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League Hosts Many Pros

The growth of American box lacrosse is a popular topic that comes up in several conversations with lacrosse fans, media and players alike. The North American Lacrosse League and Midwest Lacrosse Association are brought up often, but there is another league, just as strong, that is the sport’s best kept secret.

The Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League is one of the oldest American box lacrosse associations in the country, and it isn’t just a club league. While a league like MILA develops a lot of players from midwestern areas, the BILL already is the home of several current and former pros.

Several current NALL players play in the BILL in the off season. Some of these players are Dan Deckelbaum (Baltimore), Ginny Cappichioni (Baltimore), Josh Rochman (Boston), Patrick Crosby (Kentucky) and Dan Cocchi (Baltimore).

Some former NLL players (and current NALL players) such as Shawn Nadelin and Dan Marhol play as well. Current Rochester Knighthawk Jordan Hall plays along with MLL players like Jeff Reynolds and Jeremy Sieverts.

The team names are named after sponsors. The teams are Pickled Parrot, Team Toyota, First Mariner Bank and Rebel Lacrosse Wear.

The league plays with modified NLL rules and has existed for 28 years. The BILL also has NLL refs like Kevin Forester and Mike Ventura.

The league playoffs begin next week. All four teams make it with Pickled Parrot playing Team Toyota and Rebel Lacrosse facing First Mariner Bank.
