Report: Scott Evans Signs in Toronto

According to ILIndoor.com, recently released righty forward Scott Evans has signed with the Toronto Rock. Evans was released from the Edmonton Rush earlier in the week.

Evans was second on the Rush in goals last season with 23 but did not play in the final regular season games or in the playoffs, where the Rush made it to the Championship game.

However, he had a strong Mann Cup with the Peterborough Lakers scoring eight goals against the Langley Thunder. Evans has been a good player over his career, scoring 435 career points.

His best year came in 2007 when he scored 87 points with Rochester. Evans played with the Knighthawks his entire career until he was traded to Edmonton in 2011, and then spent two years with the Rush.

He joins a strong Toronto offense that has a right side of Garrett Billings, Blaine Manning, Kasey Biernes, Brendan Thenhaus and rookie Dustin Carvello. Evans will have to work to make the roster with this strong side, but if he does, he could be a great addition to Toronto.
