It was announced today through Twitter by Agent Chaka Bainbridge that the Buffalo Bandits have signed forward Nick Cotter to a contract. Details of the deal are not yet known. This move is the second that the Bandits have made this week and the third addition to the team under GM Steve Dietrich.
Cotter last played in the NLL in 2011 with the Boston Blazers, where he scored 15 goals and 15 assists in 16 games. He has played in three NLL seasons, with his best year coming in 2010 (20 goals, 14 assists). The 5’11” 190 lbs. forward adds a lefty to the Bandits offense, something that every team in the league is in need of. Adding a forward under 30 is also a nice move for the Bandits, who’s offensive unit of Tavares, Kelusky, and Giles was starting to look quite old.
Earlier this week the Bandits acquired Jamie Rooney and Glenn Bryan from Toronto in exchange for two draft picks. The Bandits have also acquired Shawn Williams and franchised Cosmo and Kelusky this summer. GM Steve Dietrich is in his first summer as Bandits GM after Darris Kilgour was relieved of his duties.
