The Chesapeake Bayhawks made two trades on Tuesday night, first trading for Stephen Robarge from the Denver Outlaws and then immediately trading for defenseman Jason Noble from the Florida Launch.
The Bayhawks were last in the league in faceoff percentage, which is why they traded for the Outlaws faceoff man in Robarge who played behind their starter, Anthony Kelly. They sent Cam Holding out to Denver. Holding also plays in the NLL with the Colorado Mammoth.
Afterwards they traded for Noble to help replace Brian Spallina, who is out with a broken jaw for a few more weeks. They also added James Connolly, a defenseman on the college inactive list.
Robarge has a .48 faceoff percentage in three years with the Outlaws and it’s likely he will start right away for the Bayhawks. Noble is one of the best young players in Major League Lacrosse, and the Canadian now moves further north from Florida.
The Bayhawks are now solid heading into this week after a 1-4 start to their MLL campaign. Meanwhile, the Launch have activated Stephen Keogh and Jeremy Thompson, whose NLL seasons are now over.
