Before BIG10 Lacrosse fans know it, rosters will be finalized, practices will begin, and the season will be in full swing.
One of the most exciting things to happen during the off season, is the FIL championships, and the appearances made by some former BIG10 players for the US and Canadian teams.
Jesse King of Ohio State competed for Team Canada.
Team USA boasts their BIG10 talents:
Michael Evans, Tucker Durkin, and Kyle Harrison, Paul Rabil, and Jesse Schwartzman of Johns Hopkins.
Jesse Bernhardt, Daniel Burns, and Lee Zink of Maryland.
Kevin Buchanan of Ohio State.
Drew Adams and Greg Gurenlian of Penn State.
Starting with this up-and-coming academic year, Johns Hopkins will be recognized as a sport affiliate member in the men’s division, along with competitions with Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers in the BIG10.
Last July, men’s and women’s lacrosse were recognized as the BIG10’s 27th and 28th sports, and on July 1 this change was made official. The championship schedule for the 2015 season has also been released, and it will take place in College Park, Md. (Thursday, Apr. 30-Saturday, May 2).
The teams are looking forward to the start of their seasons, and are working hard during their time “off.”
