The New England Black Wolves continue to build a new-look roster to go along with the group that made it to the eastern conference finals last season. Today, they added lefty forward Reilly O’Connor from the Calgary Roughnecks.
“We are very excited to have Reilly join the Black Wolves,” Black Wolves General Manager Rich Lisk said via press release. “His skill set fits with what we are looking for.”
O’Connor, the former seventh overall draft pick of the Roughnecks in 2015, had 36 points in his rookie season with Calgary. Just six of those points were goals, but he also added 48 loose balls for a team that made a deep western conference playoff run.
The new Black Wolf played for Georgetown in his college ball, where he is 12th in program history in Hoyas scoring. The lefty will slot in with Pat Saunders, Chad Culp, and Kevin Buchanan while rookies Dan Michel and Brandon Robinson will contend to make the roster.
With just three rookies overall competing to make the team on offense, the Black Wolves have a veteran heavy roster as they continue to reload in a changing eastern conference. O’Connor is another addition as he joins Culp, Jay Thorimbert, Mitch McMichael, and Derek Searle as players joining from other teams.
