Yesterday afternoon the Baltimore Bombers played their first home game of the 2013 season and defeated the Rhode Island Kingfish, 12-8.
Dan Marhol scored two goals in his first game with the Bombers. Peter Cannons, Andrew Wasik, Devin Spilker and Ben Reubeor also had two goals each in the victory.
Ginny Cappichioni made 30 saves and gave up just eight goals to the Kingfish. Joe Evans made 32 saves and gave up 12 goals. Dan Hettler scored for Rhode Island along with two from Michael Maggio and Gary Crowley. Hettler also had two assists.
Baltimore would score five goals in a row at the end of the game to separate and win the game. It is their second straight win as they won in Boston last week. For Rhode Island, it is their second loss in as many weeks. They lost in Kentucky last week.
The game was tied at three at the half, and Baltimore would go up by three to lead 6-3. However, Rhode Island led 8-7 late in the game, but they would not score again. Baltimore would score the next five.
Next week the Bombers face the Boston Rockhoppers in a rematch of their opening victory.
