At the beginning of the season no one would have believed that Coquitlam would be 0-4 and that Maple Ridge would be 2-1. These two teams have already met once this season with Maple Ridge taking the game 14-12 in overtime. Expect Coquitlam to come into this game with desperation to get their first win while Maple Ridge will want to continue their winning ways.
In the last meeting between these two teams both teams were putting a lot of rubber on net as the two teams combined for 110 shots in the game. The first thing to look for in this rematch is which goalie steps up because both will be under pressure and the goalie that is able to hold on will allow his team to win. The other key matchup to watch is the battle between Dane Dobbie and Curtis Dickson. Both of these players can change the game for their teams and in the last meeting Dickson had 10 points and Dobbie had nine points. Expect both of these players to play a key role in the final result of this game.
The Adanacs first and foremost in this game against Coquitlam need to be better on the power play as they went 3 for 7 in their last meeting with the Burrards. The Adanacs will need to take advantage of every opportunity they have. The second factor for the Adanacs is they will need Jesse Guerin and Brett Hickey to step up and take attention away from Dobbie who will be closely watched after torching the Burrards in their last meeting.
The Burrards have surprised teams this season and this success is due to the strong play of Curtis Dickson. Dickson has been phenomenal this season notching 23 points in 3 games the other thing Curtis Dickson has provided the Burrards is space for their other forwards. The benefactor’s of this extra space has been the duo of Joel Dalgarno and Jarrett Davis. Both these players notched seven points against the in their last meeting with the Adanacs. If Maple Ridge can get an early lead they will be able to win this game as Coquitlam has struggled at times to score goals.
In the end expect this to be another hard fought game between these two teams. In the end though Coquitlam will earn their revenge and notch their first win of the season.
