Once again the Chicago Outlaws are taking their game outside of the MILA. This summer the team will be playing two games against the USIL Developmental Team at the Sears Centre, just outside of Chicago. The two games will be played on August 4th at 6:30 pm and August 5th at 2:30 pm. This won’t be the first time that the Outlaws face a non-MILA foe however.
Last winter the Outlaws started off their Pro Invitational Season with a game against the Kentucky Stickhorses of the NALL. The team featured a roster slightly different than the MILA roster. Team captain Brendan Gorman said that the team was planning on playing a few games before the actual MILA season was underway, and these will be the first against new foes. The team also plans on playing an inter-squad black vs. white scrimmage on July 15th.
The Outlaws were MILA runner-ups last season, losing to the Grand Rapids Dragonfish. They plan on playing in the MILA again in season two. The league currently consists of 13 teams from across the midwest.
The Sears Centre, where the games are being played, was the former home of the Chicago Shamrox of the NLL. The arena seats about 11,000 people and is located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Hoffman Estates is a suburb of Chicago, located about 25 miles from the city.
Tickets are $12 per person or $20 for a weekend pass that would get you into both games. A youth lacrosse clinic will be hosted on Saturday by Tom Ryan, former Blazer coach and current coach of Team USA and the Charlotte Copperheads. Tickets can be purchased at the Sears Centre website, by calling 1-888-SEARS-TIX, or visiting the Sears Centre Box Office.
