Today it was announced that Brett Vickers would be resigning from his position as the president of the Professional Lacrosse League, adding another chapter to the league’s troubled yet short history.
The PLL is “set” to start their season in about three weeks, , with the Reading Rockets taking on the New Jersey Rascals in game one, if the league can get that far.
With Vickers out, the new chairperson of the league is  24 year old Nick Dersoiers, the owner of New Jersey. The league will not have a commissioner for now.
The PLL, of course, did not start off with a nice, clean slate. They were part of the North American Lacrosse League before they left in early January. Since then, it has been a rocky road the entire way.
The Wilkes-Barre Shamrocks and Hershey Haymakers are already gone, with no arenas, carpets, players or anything. They were going to play in 2013, but with the history of those franchises, that was doubtful.
New Jersey and Reading were just recently announced, with training camp still ongoing with up to forty players on each training camp roster with just three weeks till the season.
The PLL still might have a 2012 season. In fact, the league insists that they will. But after a collapse twice now, first in early January when they abandoned ship, and now this, it is hard to have any faith in the PLL.
