The Grand Rapids Dragonfish were short manned this week but still came out on top of the Milwaukee Marauders.The Dragonfish went into this week at 2-2 and fourth in the Continental Indoor Lacrosse League standings. Milwaukee, at 0-1, was in fifth. The weekend event was held in Milwaukee as the Dragonfish came out with an 11-5 win to advance to 3-2 on the season and remain in fourth place.
It was 6-4 Grand Rapids after the first half of the game and goaltender Dave Holding allowed just one goal in the second half. He also finished with four assists on the offensive side of the ball. Dave Monroe led the team with five points, four of which were assists while Kevin Dwyer added two goals and an assist.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Coney Dogs played the Columbus Brew in an exhibition match. The Brew won the game 15-10 and have won three games on the season, though this game did not count on the CILL schedule.
Next week the Dragonfish scrimmage with their Junior team while the Brew travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Octane. Pittsburgh is 0-3 on the season and will be looking to win for a chance at the playoffs.
