The Colorado Buffaloes lacrosse team announced on October 15th their upcoming season schedule, which features matches against many prestigious universities. The Buff’s will open their season at Stetson on February 13th, followed by a trip to Jacksonville on February 15th. Mid-Season, they will take a tour of the Northeast with games against Massachusetts and New Hampshire, followed by a home game again Rhode Island’s Brown University.
Head Coach Ann Elliott is looking forward to playing on the road for the first couple of games, as she feels it would help this young team (which consists of 21 freshman) gain experience. “I am looking forward to kicking off our season down in Florida against two solid teams in Stetson and Jacksonville,” Elliott said. “To be able to go on the road early and play two teams in one weekend will be a great test for our program.”
The Buffaloes schedule offers a lot of incredibly tough match-ups, which is concerning for such a young team. While my expectations are not too high for this squad, I suspect they will start the season slowly, but pick up their intensity toward the end of the season. With a coach like Elliott; however, who had several years of championship experience at Northeastern University, this team will have some great guidance along the way.
