The first annual all star game was an exciting way to end the CLAX season. Having faced these opponents in several intense battles throughout the season, it was a nice change of pace to play against the league’s best players for a fun friendly match.
Derek Collins made several great saves in the first half for the All Stars, denying several of our top players on breakaways. There was an abundance of scoring opportunities that you wouldn’t see in a regular season game, which was good because everyone was out to have fun and that’s what we did! Caleb Wiles and Wayne VanEvery scored some spectacular high light reel goals for the All Stars. While Dylan Llord and Andrew Potter filled the net for us keeping the game close. I think every one had a scoring opportunity and it was nice to have a chance to stop the league’s best players one more time.
There was a great sense of friendly rivalry with obvious mutual respect for all the great talent that was there for the All Star game. I think it was fun for the players and for the fans that were watching. It is a beginning of a great tradition and I’m happy that the Lock Monsters were able to be part of it.
