The Ohio Machine are out of the playoff race, and with a loss they will clinch the first overall draft pick. The Charlotte Hounds, meanwhile, have a shot at a playoff spot.The Hounds, Rochester Rattlers and Boston Cannons are all in playoff battles. The Hounds and Cannons are tied for the fourth playoff seed, and with the Chesapeake Bayhawks loss today, they could end up just half a game out of the third slot.
If the Hounds win and Cannons lose, they will find themselves in sole possession of their playoff seed. If they lose and the Cannons win, they are in a much tougher position for the playoffs.
Meanwhile the Machine are 1-10 on the season and have nothing left to play for when it comes to the 2013 season. They have a chance at the top overall pick if they can lose or if the New York Lizards defeat the Rattlers tonight.
Charlotte defeated Ohio 13-7 in their other matchup of the season, in Charlotte. This is the last time the new newest MLL franchises will play this season.
