The Inside Lacrosse Faceoff Yearbook is a font of useful information year after year. The 2014 edition is no different and in there is more information than you could ever want to know about the world of Division III lacrosse.

Included alongside the Division III Preseason Top 20, which we are using for our Top 20 Countdown (shameless plug), are the 2014 Preseason All-Americans. The IL Staff chose a first team, second team, third team and a host of honorable mentions. Click here to read to article on Inside Lacrosse.

Some notes on the All-American lists

  • Salisbury and Cortland are the only teams with two players on the first team. Joe Slavik and Brian Winterfeldt represent Cortland, while Zeke Smith and Josh Martin are the pair from Salisbury.
  • Seven of the 12 players on the first team hail from the North region.
  • Seems as though every team in the country got somebody on the list except my alma mater, Springfield College. Remember the name Ryon Lynch.
  • Cabrini attackman Corey Elmer lit the world on fire last year and was named Lacrosse Magazine’s Preseason Player of the Year. IL has him on the second team, though.
  • Preston Dabbs on the second team might be the undersell of the year. That guy is probably going to be Matt Abbott 2.0 this season. Crazy defender, taking on some offensive responsibility during his sophomore season
