Lacrosse in the sunshine state, sign me up! Major League Lacrosse should be moving to Florida for the 2014 season. The Hamilton Nationals would be moving to south Florida where an All-Star game was played. I believe this would be a good move for the MLL. When word first came out of the MLL moving to either Georgia or Florida I highly questioned the Georgia proposition, I do believe that going south is a good idea to expand the league and to give Charlotte some company. I believe Florida is a much more thought out idea that will come with much better results.
Just by looking at the numbers you can see that the Florida was a wiser choice. Florida holds 191 high school teams, Georgia only 86. Florida also holds several division one, two, three, and MCLA teams while Georgia only holds a hand full of college teams. Florida has the potential to become a hotbed in the lacrosse world, I mean who doesn’t want to play lacrosse in beautiful weather everyday?
It is also said that in the 2015 a team will return to Hamilton as a part of the expansion for the MLL. This move coming down to Florida can only mean good things for the MLL and I, like many other fans, am excited to see the expansion of the sport we all love.
