The Vancouver Stealth opened their first training camp sessions of the season this weekend. Stealth rookie Dan Keane has agreed to be one of our player-bloggers for this upcoming NLL season.
Overall the camps were great this weekend. The atmosphere was competitive and everyone was extremely focused.
Over the weekend we had three sessions. These session were focused on mainly conditioning, stick skills, and scrimmaging. A majority of the drills were game oriented and it was a great learning experience.
All the older guys were helpful and determined to push the rookies and new guys on the team.
Lastly, the main thing about these camps is that it is a long grind. Out of province guys like my self need to be mentally focused because of the long flights and short rest periods. Also there is a three hour time change which your body needs to adjust too. Having three sessions over two days will exhaust oneself. No matter the style of training camp, it’s just as important to be mentally prepared as physically prepared.
