Pat Young Transferring to Maryland

June 9, 2015

Pat Young will be transferring out of UMBC and will be joining Maryland University’s lacrosse team for his final college lacrosse season. Since Young’s first days as a Retriever, he has been one of the best players at UMBC and of the top players to watch in the American East Conference and NCAA lacrosse. In just his freshman year in 2013, Young recorded 39 points and was the American East Rookie…

Davies: Year End Report in NCAA

June 5, 2015

Championship Weekend might have been the best in a long time.  Two semifinal games that were games defined by runs and one goal wins, thrilled audiences everywhere.  Wes Berg sending his team to the title game and Maryland holding on to the win over Hopkins were extraordinary showcases for the game and its national audience.  Now after the climax, we have a summer to reflect on the season. The New…

NCAA Lacrosse 2015 Top Ten Goals of the Year

June 2, 2015

My favorite part of looking back on the season is remembering the extraordinary plays that made their mark.  In this edition, I’ll be taking a deeper focus on top goals.  Friday’s story will be top plays overall. Goals are one of the coolest parts of the game, and they’re even better when they’re scored in ridiculous ways.  Sure Sergio Perkovic and Myles Jones have incredible speed on their shots, but…

May 30, 2015

The NCAA Championship Weekend is my favorite weekend of the year.  I have gone every year since 2007, only missing 2008 and 2011 in that span.  Even in those years, I did go see the quarterfinals the week before.  The reasons why I enjoy this event are numerous, but they were all confirmed once again this year.  Here’s a little run down of the weekend and why I keep coming…

Takeaways From Championship Weekend

May 26, 2015

As part of the Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse team, losing to Johns Hopkins two Sundays ago did not go well with anyone on the team.  We all had high expectations of making Championship Weekend in Philadelphia and even winning the school’s 12th (if you’re a stickler, 11) NCAA Championship in the sport. But while most of my brothers and coaches headed back home this weekend, I also went back home to…
