NCAA ACC Roundup: Another All Conference Championship

May 29, 2014

Following Duke’s back-to-back championship wins, it seems there’s a solid perspective on the ACC as the Power House Conference. I think that’s accurate. Lacrosse continues to grow from east to west, meaning younger programs pop up the further west one goes in the US. Mostly MCLA and NCLL competition other than the Denver Pioneers. Let’s take a glance at the season-ending records of the ACC teams: Maryland 13-4 Duke   17-3…

Maryland beats Syracuse 15-12 for National Championship

May 27, 2014

Maryland jumped out to a 5-0 lead less than five minutes into Sunday night’s National Championship Game and it looked like the Terrapins would run away with the title. Lacrosse is a game of runs, so that thought was quickly dispelled by the Syracuse Orange. Syracuse answered with the next four goals to pull right back into the game. The Terrapins went on a 6-1 second-half run to take a…

Maryland Women’s Team Captures Championship Trophy, Tops ‘Cuse

Maryland captured their 11th National Title Sunday night. There was a record-breaking 10,311 fans in attendance for Sunday’s match. Syracuse and Mayland Advance to Women’s Championship

The question was asked of Maryland head coach Cathy Reese following her team’s 9-6 win over Northwestern. Was this the case of the better team winning? On paper, it looks like the answer is yet, but credit Reese for how she responded. “Anytime you step on the field, you have to compete,” she said. “You have to compete and you have to play well and execute if you want to…

The time has arrived!  The Calgary Roughnecks will host the Rochester Knighthawks in Game 1 of the two-game series.
