January 15, 2023

Kieran McArdle was not allowing the Albany FireWolves to drop two straight games against the Halifax Thunderbirds.  McArdle scored two goals and added two assists, getting a point on all of Albany’s four fourth quarter goals to send the game to overtime. In the extra frame, McArdle ran into the high slot and fired the winner into the net. The FireWolves beat the Thunderbirds 11-10 in overtime at the Scotiabank…

NLL: Bandits get big win for weather-ravaged Buffalo

January 2, 2023

It’s no surprise to anyone that wintertime in Buffalo, New York can be quite nasty. But this past week leading up to Friday night’s showdown with Halifax was another level. Snow, wind and bone-chilling temperatures all caused blizzard-like conditions in the Western New York area. Some even said that this topped the Blizzard of ‘77 (if you know, you know). With that, came people getting stranded, having no power, or…

Eleven goals is pretty decent –…

NLL: Riptide’s strong bond will improve results in 2022-23

November 29, 2022

Callum Crawford said it best, at the end of last season: “If we got [the New York Riptide] to the playoffs, there’s not a single team in this league that [would want] to see this young group. We can be this really dynamic team that you don’t want to face at any given time.” The Riptide finished in seventh place in the NLL’s East Division in 2022 with a 6-12…

NLL: Bandits gearing up for another run at league title

November 9, 2022

The Buffalo Bandits started the 2021-22 season perfectly. Literally. They were 6-0 to start the year before suffering their first loss February 12th in Toronto. In that 6-1 stretch, Buffalo beat teams like Calgary, Rochester, Toronto and New York, which was an overtime thriller at Nassau Coliseum. Their offense was red hot, defense was stifling, oh, and they had one of best goalies in the world, in Matt Vinc. Following…

Game three of the NLL Finals was live from Banditland on Saturday night at KeyBank Center. Sixty minutes to decide the season. It had been over 5,000 days since both the Buffalo Bandits and/or the Colorado Mammoth have hoisted an NLL Cup, so this was going to be a treat. Not sure if it was mind games, or something popped up, but we almost saw Eli McLaughlin for game three….

In front of 10,082 of the Loud House faithful, the Mammoth were led by Zed Williams and Connor Robinson….
