With a logjam in the Major League Lacrosse standings, two teams will get some clarity after Saturday night’s game as the 3-5 Ohio Machine travel to New York to face the 4-4 Lizards. New York is tied for third place and would be in the playoffs if it started today, but the Lizards are just one game away from being in seventh place and still have work to do. The…

Rattlers Notebook: Galloway Steps Up Again

June 26, 2014

Offensively, the ball was well distributed as was predicted last week. At least eight different players found the back of the cage in their most recent game (and win) against the Charlotte Hounds. Most of those athletes scored multiple times each. Jordan Wolf continued to be a feeding nightmare against an opposing defense. He assisted five different times in the Hounds game alone and was one of the players to…

What’s Working for the Rattlers?

Entering the 2014 season, the Rochester Rattlers were thought to be one of the worst teams in the MLL. Following an offseason in which they traded their two most experienced and possibly most talented players in Matt Streibel and Ned Crotty, not many people gave them a chance. But that’s why they play the game! Rochester finds itself in sole possession of second place in the MLL with a 5-3 record…

In addition Rochester also enters their next match up against the Outlaws, whom they previously lost to this season 14-8 on May 17, and Denver stands in first place having only lost one game in the past two…

Machine Outrun Rattlers in 18-13 Win

June 15, 2014

Coming into this matchup with a 2-4 record and hopes that this season would be a turnaround for the Ohio MLL team, there was a lot on the line against the Rattlers. Desperation can play a huge part in a team’s performance and I believe the Machine hit their point of desperation heading into this game. The Rattlers had control of the game until halfway through the second quarter. With…
