Attackman Drew Westervelt fired in four goals on Saturday night, but it wasn’t enough as the Chesapeake Bayhawks could not hold an early lead and fell to the unbeaten Denver Outlaws, 14-12, at Sports Authority Field in the Mile High City. With a 14-12 victory over the Chesapeake Bayhawks (7-5), the Denver Outlaws (12-0) closed out the regular-season series between the two teams by clinching the top spot in Major League Lacrosse’s Championship Weekend. Lawsons’s Five Goals Lead Rattlers over Lizards
Midfielder Dave Lawson scored five goals, including the game tying tally with 5:14 remaining in the game, while short stick defender Steve DeNapoli buried the go-ahead goal a minute later.
