Major League Lacrosse is a Catalyst for Change

June 18, 2014

On Saturday, I attended my first Major League Lacrosse game of the summer. Chesapeake pulled out a 16-15 victory over Boston in a game that saw a 7-0 Cannons run answered quickly with a 6-1 run by the Bayhawks. For all the goals, saves and great defensive plays, one aspect had the biggest impact on the game–instant replay. I say that as a positive. Down 16-15 in the final seconds,…

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – There’s a noticeable difference lately in the Charlotte Hounds. Saturday night, it was Mike Sawyer and Adam Ghitelman who came up big for Charlotte during its 14-13 victory over the Florida Launch…

In a game that saw a 7-0 Boston run followed by a 6-1 Chesapeake response, it was the Bayhawks who came out victorious in the end, just barely. The Cannons’ Stephen Berger appeared to have tied the score at 16 with less than ten seconds remaining, but Chesapeake head coach Dave Cottle challenged the play and after review, it was ruled that Berger’s foot was in the crease, negating the…

Machine Outrun Rattlers in 18-13 Win

June 15, 2014

Coming into this matchup with a 2-4 record and hopes that this season would be a turnaround for the Ohio MLL team, there was a lot on the line against the Rattlers. Desperation can play a huge part in a team’s performance and I believe the Machine hit their point of desperation heading into this game. The Rattlers had control of the game until halfway through the second quarter. With…
