On Thursday night the Victoria Shamrocks will play host to the Langley Thunder in game 6 of the WLA final. So far this has been a back and forth series. Langley was able to take games one and three thanks to their quick starts as they were able to put Victoria in an early hole and hold them off for the victory. While Victoria has won games two, four, and five. Victoria won game two thanks to massive third period comeback while in game four they showed off their defensive prowess in order to win the game and in game five they won thanks to a quick start which put Langley behind.
The Thunder in game six need to get off to a good start as they have proven in this series that if they get their offense going early they are able to hold off Victoria. Langley has had success due to the great play of Mark Matthews and Garret Billings. Langley will want to get off to another quick start and force the Shamrocks to battle from behind.
Victoria on the other hand struggled to overcome Langley’s early leads in games one and three but have been able to adapt with strong defensive play along with their own quick start in game five. Victoria will want to get off to a good start and force Langley to work from behind for a change in this series. Victoria will need to use their tight defensive game to force turnovers so that they will be able to generate offense in transition.
Game six should be another close game as these two teams have been even all year and every game between the two could go either way.
