Chiefs Complete Sweep of Brooklin

The 2013 Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) champion Six Nations Chiefs patiently await to learn of their opponent in the Mann Cup.

Six Nations put forth a dominating playoff performance, sweeping the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks in the opening round of playoffs before doing the same to the Brooklin Redmen in the MSL finals.

Cody Jamieson was a force to be reckoned with during the Chiefs playoff run. Jamieson posted 39 points in nine postseason appearances, including a league leading 19 goals en route to being awarded the Johnny Shooter Davis Award as MSL playoffs MVP.

Craig Point and Colin Doyle join Jamieson in the Six Nations scoring spree. Point and Doyle were even in playoff scoring, finishing with 35 points each. The duo’s point production was largely due to their set-up abilities. With Point posting 24 assists and Doyle finishing with 23, Shawn Williams was the only MSL player to register more playoff helpers.

After an impressive regular season in his first year as a member of the Chiefs, goaltender Evan Kirk continued his stellar play into the playoffs. Kirk tended the twine for each of Six Nations eight victories, finishing with a league best 6.44 goals against average and an .823 save percentage.

The Chiefs will take on the winner of the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) finals taking place between the Victoria Shamrocks and the Langley Thunder. Victoria currently leads the series 3-2 with Game 6 set for Thursday, August 29.
