Kevin Cunningham scored off a feed from Kieran McArdle with 2:30 left in the fourth quarter to tie the score at nine and force overtime, in a game the Launch were down 7-3.
The Rochester Rattlers would need an overtime winner and fourth goal of the game for Jordan Macintosh, who was named Coca-Cola player of the game. Macintosh added one assist.
Sam Snow opened the scoring for the Launch, before the Rattlers reeled off three straight and six of the next eight goals for take a 6-3 halftime lead.
Rattlers star Jordan Wolf netted two goals an added two assists in the first half. Wolf left the game early and didn’t return.
The Launch gave up a pair of goals in the third quarter, both belonging to Kyle Denoff, while making some ground and winning the quarter 3-2 with an unassisted goal from Kieran McArdle who finished with two goals and one assist, followed by a goal from All Star Defenseman Tucker Durkin. Steven Brooks added one late in the third; Brooks also had two goals and two assists on the afternoon.
The fourth quarter was all Launch as they gave up just one goal. They had all the momentum heading into overtime but the offense would never get the chance to score when Jordan Macintosh scored at 1:01 into the extra session.
The Launch are winless (0-3) and will host the Ohio Machine Saturday night in Boca Raton, Florida. Faceoff is set for 7:00 pm.
