According to reports, Buffalo Bandits forward Luke Wiles is not yet signed for the 2013 season. The report comes from IL Indoor where Wiles’ agent Chaka Bainbridge said that Wiles is farther away from signing than Dhane Smith was before he signed on Saturday.
Ironically, the fate of another Bainbridge client could affect where Smith winds up playing. Luke Wiles, the team’s second-leading scorer in goals and total points last year, has yet to sign and according to both sides is further away from reaching an agreement than Smith was before he signed. As another right-hander, if Wiles is not in camp or on the roster when the season starts, that will leave a scoring void that Smith may be needed to step into.
Wiles was acquired from the Washington Stealth last season when Wiles expressed his desire to play on the east coast, as he lives in Philadelphia.
Last season for the Bandits Wiles scored 70 points, the most since his 82 in 2007 with Washington. Wiles was a vital part of the Bandits offense, but for 2013 the Bandits have brought in a ton of offensive studs in Smith, Carter Bender and others. They would like to get this deal with Wiles done, but according to the report from Indoor, we will need to wait and see.
