The Georgia Swarm made their first draft pick in the history of the team in Gwinnett with the first overall pick in the 2015 NLL draft, selecting Lyle Thompson out of Albany and the Onondaga Redhawks.
It’s no surprise to have Thompson land in Georgia, a team looking to get a face of their relocated club. They already have Miles, who is Lyle’s brother.
Thompson has been one of the most acclaimed lacrosse prospects of this generation, also a first overall pick in Major League Lacrosse to the Florida Launch last season.
The Swarm had four first round picks overall and they used them to select Chad Tutton out of North Carolina/Peterborough, Jesse King out of Ohio State/Victoria, and Randy Staats from Syracuse/Six Nations.
