Each team has that one player they cannot survive without. The same goes in Major League Lacrosse for the four playoff teams and the four that sit on the outside looking in.
Who are the most valuable players on each club? Let’s take a look.
Denver Outlaws- Brendan Mundorf
Mundorf has an outside chance of being the league MVP. He is second in the league in points at 59 and led an Outlaws offense that got them to the top seed in the playoffs.
Boston Cannons- Paul Rabil
First, he scored the most points in a season ever. He had 27 goals and 38 assists and also had seven two point goals. The Cannons dynamic offense got them into the playoffs on the last day, and Rabil leads that offense.
Chesapeake Bayhawks- Kyle Dixon
The most dangerous part of the Bayhawks is their two point shooting, and Kyle Dixon leads the team with 15 two point goals. In fact he leads the league in it by about six. He makes the Bayhawks offense as dangerous as it is.
Long Island Lizards- Drew Adams
Just named the goaltender of the year last year, could the Lizards have gotten into the playoffs without Drew Adams? They lost so many players in the off season, and some players who were drafted, they needed a stellar performance from Adams to carry them.
Hamilton Nationals- Joe Walters
Joe Walters missed three games this season to play with the Rochester Knighthawks of the NLL in the playoffs. Yet he still led the Nationals in points and was fifth in the league. He was a bright spot in a mediocre season.
Charlotte Hounds- Matt Danowski
Sixth in the league in scoring, Matt Danowski was everything Charlotte asked him to be in his first year with the team. He scored 43 points for the Hounds.
Ohio Machine- Kyle Hartzell
Ohio didn’t have a lot of positives this season, but one of the ones they did have was Kyle Hartzell. He scored just eleven goals this season, but he is a defender, and nine of those eleven goals were two pointers.
Rochester Rattlers- Matt StreibelÂ
You’d think this would be Ned Crotty, but actually it is Matt Streibal who lead the Rattlers in scoring and was a huge part of their team.
