The Colorado Mammoth got a good season out of Chris Levis last season and Tye Belanger has been a good backup, but today the Mammoth brought in another goaltender.
Matt Roik signed with the Mammoth today to a one year deal. Roik was a backup with the Washington Stealth before he was traded to the Toronto Rock. He was supposed to be the starter last season, but struggled and they released him.
Roik has been in the NLL for eleven years and he won a Championship in Washington in 2011 as a backup to starter Tyler Richards.
Roik was actually an all star last season but he struggled after the halfway mark of the season. He played in ten games for Toronto before they traded for Nick Rose from Calgary.
Team president and general manager Steve Govett said that Roik will compete for a spot on the Mammoth roster during training camp.
