According to Maryland’s head coach John Tillman, sophomore attackman Matt Rambo has been suspended iindefinitely. According to court records, both Rambo and student assistant coach Brian Cooper were charged with first and second degree assault, and Rambo was also charged with malicious destruction of property.
“We hold our student-athletes to a high standard and they are expected to represent our program and university accordingly,” Tillman said in a statement to the media. “We will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation. Because this is an ongoing matter, we will refrain from any further comment at this time.”
Rambo scored 30 goals last season, good for second on the team, along with his 36 total points. He was supposed to take over the role of graduated attackman Mike Chenenchuk, but now it looks like the Terps will have a very different looking attack unit heading into their first season in the Big Ten.
