When you think of developmental leagues for the National Lacrosse League, the Midwest Indoor Lacrosse Association is not the first league you think of. You would probably think of NALL or CLax or a league like that.
At least two MILA players will be on the roster of the Colorado Mammoth this coming NLL season. Alex Demopolous and Cam Holding.
Holding signed with the Mammoth before last season, becoming the first MILA player to ever play in an NLL game. He will return to Colorado for the 2013 season.
Joining him should be Demopolous, who was a fifth round NLL draft pick this season. He played with the Colorado Sabertooths who made it to the MILA Championship, and also played college lacrosse with the Denver Pioneers along with first overall pick Mark Matthews.
MILA has had their issues, just getting a Championship game set up and holding on by a thread. But there is no doubt that MILA so far has had a positive impact on the NLL.
