Senior – Marcus Holman – Attack – Ohio Machine – North Carolina Tar Heels
Ohio Machines 2nd round (12th overall) draft pick in 2013 picked up one goal and four assists in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. North Carolina (13-3) picked up the victory over Lehigh (12-5) to end the Mountain Hawks season. The Tar Heels 16-7 victory on Saturday advances them to the quarter finals of the NCAA Tournament and will now face Denver (13-4) on May 19th at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Baltimore, MD native had an outstanding season for the Tar Heels leading the team in scoring and currently sits fourth in the NCAA in points with 37 goals and 41 assists for 79 points in 16 games.
Senior – Mike Sawyer – Attack – Charlotte Hounds – Loyola Greyhounds
Loyola Greyhound (11-5) and Charlotte Hounds 1st round (8th overall) pick in 2013 collegiate career came to an end on Sunday after losing 12-11 in double overtime to Duke(13-5) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Sawyer scored two goals and added one assist in the loss.
In 2013, Sawyer finished second on team scoring with 36 goals and seven assists for 43 points in 14 games.
The Waxhaw, NC native will now join the Hounds (1-2) lineup when they take on the Hamilton Nationals (2-0) on May 17th at 11 am.
Senior – Brian Megill – Defense – Denver Outlaws – Syracuse Orange
Syracuse Orange (14-3) defender and the 2013 -1st round (7th overall) pick for the Denver Outlaws helped keep the Bryant Bulldogs (8-11) to only seven goals on Sunday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Orange defeated the Bull dogs by a score of 12-7 to advance to the quarterfinals next weekend against Yale (12-4).
In the victory, Megill picked up four groundballs and caused one turnover. In 2013, he has one goal and one assists along with 44 groundballs and 21 caused turnovers. His caused turnover on Sunday propelled him to 99 in his career.
Senior – John Haus – Midfield – Hamilton Nationals – Maryland Terps
The Hamilton Nationals 2nd round (15th overall) draft pick in 2013 will be joining his new team on Friday when they host the Hounds after his collegiate team; Maryland lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Maryland Terps (10-4) were defeated by Cornell (13-3) 16-8. John Haus scored two goals for the Terps in his final collegiate game.
Haus finished his last season with the Terps scoring 18 goals and 10 assists for 28 points in 14 games.
