Could Major League Lacrosse expand to Kansas City? The 2015 expansion rumors highlight Atlanta, Philadelphia and Florida, but a new candidate has emerged. In an interview with Florida Lacrosse News, Major League Lacrosse commissioner David Gross mentioned that Kansas City could be a possible future expansion site.
We are now looking at expansion in Kansas City because all 19 syndicated games are aired in Kansas City. So, we are almost able to bicycle together a second national network through syndication.
Gross says that for expansion teams next year in their “test markets”, Atlanta and Florida, they would need to have that wrapped up by the end of the summer. For more on the expansion process, check out their story.
