21. Mike MacDonald, Princeton Tigers
Attack- He had a 40+ goal season a few years ago which propelled his name into talk of being drafted. He took a step back in 2014 but is still very viable. Another Canadian player, and MLL seems to have a lot of Canadian stars nowadays (Crowley, Grant, Merrill, Matisz, MacIntosh, Matthews, Dickson, etc).
22. Joe LoCascio, Maryland Terrapins
Midfield- Competitive and “gritty” player with a ton of talent. Has a great shot and put up 25 points last season, 20 of which were goals. The Maryland star could be a good fit in a place like Chesapeake, always looking at local upgrades.
23. Will Haus, Duke Blue Devils
Midfield- When it comes to sports, everyone’s favorite word is “gritty”, and that’s exactly what Haus is. He shows up in the biggest games and has been a part of some terrific playoff teams with Duke. Another guy who translates well as a pro player and even as a defensive middie he can put up some offense as well.
24. Matt Donovan, Cornell Big Red
Attack- Donovan is on a long list of Cornell players in this year’s draft. Had 35 goals last season and was a leader on an offense still recovering from Rob Pannell being drafted. He’s a solid scorer who should see a third or fourth round selection or so.
25. Dan Taylor, Lehigh Mountain Hawks
Attack- Taylor is the most under rated attackman in this draft. The Canadian has been a stud for years with Lehigh, and once again, the small school stigma may hurt him. Taylor is a big body at 6’3 and was seventh in the NCAA in goals last season. Hopefully a team will see his potential and he’ll be a high pick.
26. Jordan Stevens, Cornell Big Red
Defense- The best ground ball defenseman in the draft. Stevens also caused 19 turnovers in 2014 to lead Cornell. He’s a pro-style defender that could fit in almost any system and do anything needed. Very versatile and a good, safe pick.
27. Ryan LaPlante, Denver Pioneers
Goalie- The Annual-Pioneer-Drafted-By-The-Outlaws Award goes to LaPlante likely. They added Dillon Ward to compete for the back up role but LaPlante makes sense for the Outlaws and they make sense for him. Second ranked goalie on our draft board.
28. Micheal Pellegrino, Johns Hopkins Blue Jays
Defense- Firey defenseman who throws big checks and is sure to be a fan favorite. Pellegrino might be a bit under rated but his game could translate really well to the pro level. Very physical and his presence is enough to mess up an offensive possession.
29. David Dickson, Bucknell Bison
Midfield- Versatile, can play attack along with midfield. He had a whopping 28 assists last season but in 2013 he had 48. He could put up some seriously ridiculous numbers up if he gets drafted in the right situation.
30. Bobby Schmidt, Bellarmine Knights
Defense- Once again, small schools don’t get as many draftees, but Schmidt should hear his name called come draft day. Bellarmine has seen players go pro, but just one, Dillon Ward, has done so in MLL. Schmidt is a solid defender that could be decent depth on just about any roster.
