Entering Week 12 on the MLL season, the playoff race is as tight as it may have ever been. Allow me to paint the picture for you as the match-ups this weekend will surely shake things up.
Denver Outlaws and the Rochester Rattlers are tied atop the league at 8-3. The Lizards have sole possession of third place with a 7-4 record. After that it gets really interesting, The Boston Cannons and Ohio Machine are tied for the fourth and final playoff spot with 5-6 records, while the Charlotte Hounds and Florida Launch each sit on the outside looking right in with 4-7 records.
The Machine are at home this weekend as they host the Outlaws, tough sledding. The Launch have back to back games against the Cannons, a season split might not help their cause but stealing two would put them a game ahead of Boston. The Hounds face off in Rochester where the Rattlers still haven’t lost this season, and will host Ohio next weekend.
The Lizards travel to Chesapeake where the Bayhawks have struggled this year, you could almost say the Lizards are a lock for a playoff bid, where they end up in the bracket cannot be told, but they just have to win once in these final three weekends to clinch a playoff berth.
That fourth a final playoff spot will likely go down to the wire, it’ll get that much more interesting after week 12 games are concluded.
My early prediction: Rochester takes 1st, because John Galloway is the best goalie in the league, Boston gets the last playoff spot.
