With the NLL draft now just a month away, we will continue to feature prospects and updates on the draft, and we will try to have four or five mock drafts before it is all said and done. Here is our first mock draft.
1. Edmonton- Mark Matthews
Matthews already has some professional lacrosse experience, playing with MLL’s Denver Outlaws and getting to the Championship game. Also a star at Denver University, Matthews has box lacrosse experience with the Whitby Warriors in 2011. He had 73 points in thirteen games. He is a can’t-miss NLL super star.
2. Minnesota- Brock Sorenson
Sorenson has not played at the pro level yet, but has played at Ohio State University and with the Orangeville Northmen of Jr A. He also played with the Jr A Peterborough Lakers.  A star defender, he will be someone for the Swarm to build around. They have been targeting him since before last season.
3. Minnesota- Keil Matisz
Matisz has pro lacrosse experience with the Ohio Machine this season, where he played eight games. He scored nine points in those games. The former Robert Morris star has played box lacrosse with the Burlington Chiefs.
4. Minnesota- Shayne JacksonÂ
In 2011, he scored 84 points with the Whitby Warriors. In 2012, he found himself in the Western Lacrosse Association facing off with some of the top players in the NLL. With the Langley Thunder, Jackson scored thirty eight points in fourteen games in the highest level of competition he has ever played. He could be an NLL force with the Swarm.
5. Buffalo- Joe ResetaritsÂ
The Bandits have really wanted this player, and he will likely fall to number five for them. He scored fourteen points as an attackman with the Hamilton Nationals this season. He played twelve games with the Brampton Excelsiors this season as well, scored twenty eight points.
6. Calgary- Carter Bender
Bender played his college ball with the Hartford Hawks and he played in MLL this season with the Rochester Rattlers, playing in one game. He also played with the Burlington Chiefs of Jr B.
7. Calgary- Dhane Smith
Smith has played with the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves, where he led the league with 104 points this season. He has 302 career Jr A points, and Calgary benefits a lot from him dropping down to here.
8. Edmonton- Michael Burke
An Ontario native, Burke played college ball with Hofstra. In 2010, he scored 129 points with the Jr B Brampton Excelsiors. In 2012, he played with the MSL Excelsiors and scored twenty five points.
9. Colorado- Chris Attwood
A forward with the Saint Catharines Athletics, Attwood scored fifty eight points in 2012. He played with the Ohsweken Demons in CLax, where he led the league with seventy one points.
10. Minnesota- Colton Clark
