NCAA Fall Ball Check In: North Carolina

It’s a “No days off” mentality—on and off the field as the North Carolina Men’s Lacrosse team prepare for the 2015 season. The guys are hard at work, and are setting out to dominate the conference.

Breschi Scholarship FundIn addition to their recent flood of philanthropy work with Carolina Dreams, UNC has also been honored for their academic accomplishments, with 22 of their players making the ACC Honor Roll for the 2013-2014 season. This is a record breaking number, and truly shows how dedicated the players are to the success of their team, and with their own personal academic success.
This upcoming season is going to be a breakout season for North Carolina, as their recruiting class was ranked at #5 by the polls. They are bringing in a whole new group of talent, and this diversity across the field will hopefully take the Tar heels to new heights, allowing them to surpass their 10-5 record from the 2014 season.

Freshmen attack men Jordan Prysko, Brian Cannon, and Patrick McCormick are going to bring the heat to Carolina’s offensive ability. They are strong, quick, and can quickly outsmart the other team’s defensive plays. These three were recognized as a valuable asset long before the roster for 2015 came out, as they were standouts during their high school careers as well.

Returning players, and newly elected captains, Joey Sankey, Jimmy Bitter, Jake Bailey, and Ryan Kilpatrick are returning to the field and ready to lead the team to what has the potential to be an outstanding, and winning, season. Sankey and Bitter have started in every single game of their college careers, and this season will be no different for the pair. The intensity they bring to the field is unmatched, and with the power of Bailey and Kilpatrick, this fierce four will be tough to face.

The Tarheels have the setup for an amazing year. The age diversity on the field, from fast freshman to standout seniors, will certainly play to their advantage. The Heels are set to scrimmage Ohio State at the Breschi Scholarship Fund day of activities on Saturday.
