This Saturday, Yale will take on Fairfield on the road for their third regular season game. For Yale, a win would continue their undefeated opening to the season, while for Fairfield a win would place them above .500 on the season for the first time since Week 3.
Comparing 2014 statistics is difficult at this time because Fairfield has played twice as many games as Yale. Currently, the Bulldogs are posting a 9.50 gpg in just two games, and the Stags 13.50 gpg. Fairfield has been more dominant in their wins, defeating the likes of Delaware and Manhattan by a cumulative score of 36-12, while in Yale’s first two games; they overcame St. John’s and Bryant by a total of 19-14.
By the numbers, it is difficult to disagree that Fairfield owns the more dominant offense, but with more games under their belt, this statistic could eventually balance out. This will be the first time the two will face each other since last season, a game Fairfield lost 8-12.
Saturday’s game will be at 3 pm in Fairfield, CT.
