New England Blackwolves Look for Youth and Drive in McNamara

Mike McNamara was traded during the NLL draft from Colorado Mammoth to the New England Black Wolves for the 17 overall pick.  With this trade New England got great value picking up a veteran defender who is coming off his second straight summer winning a Mann Cup with the Six Nation Chiefs.

Growing up in Hamilton Ontario, which has a good number of players in the NLL, Mike has been around great lacrosse all his life. He played Junior A lacrosse for the Six Nation Arrows from 2009 till 2011 playing 74 games s while notching 32 points and picking up 72 loose balls. McNamara was a force on the Arrows Defense for three seasons. Since ending his junior career Mike has spent the past three seasons playing Senior A ball for the Chiefs.

His biggest impact has been the past two championship seasons for the Chiefs getting loose balls playing solid defense and dropping the gloves when he has too.

Mike first entered the NLL back when he was drafted by the Toronto in the 2010 draft.  Buffalo has been Mike biggest impact in the league playing 4 games in 2012 and 9 in 2013. Last season after being released Mike singed with Colorado where he played in 9 games.

Mike can have a big impact with New England in many different ways. He has been around the NLL for a little while now and has played with some of the teams young rookies for the Arrows and Chiefs. He is big strong tough defender who can stand up for tea mates when he has to. Last thing he brings some Canadian grit to a defense with a good amount of American players on it.
