Niagara opens training Camp, While Turf Dogs look to take a bite out of Clax.

The Niagara Lock Monsters took another step towards their first Clax season as they opened their first ever training camp. The Lock Monsters saw great things from all their players but there were some that stood out above the rest. Andrew Tober showed no sign of slowing down and still looks to be one of the top transition players in the league. Dylan Llord played well at both ends of the floor and brings toughness as well as scoring prowess to the Lock Monsters.

Expect Llord to continue to be one of the most hated players in the league. Jordan Daradick the top scorer in the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association impressed the coaching staff of the Lock Monsters with his shot. While Ryan Dakin wowed coaches with his speed for a man of his size at 6ft’3 260 pounds. Expect Dakin to put a bruising on his opponents. The Lock Monsters look ready to roll and are off to a good start to the season.

The Durham Turfs Dogs look ready to take a bite out of Clax as well. The Turf Dogs selected Kyle Goodchild with their first overall pick in the 2012-2013 draft. The Turf Dogs also selected Kyle O’Brien a former Whitby warrior in the second round.

In the third round the Turf Dogs selected hard nose defender Mike Lum Walker who will add some grit to their lineup. The biggest pickup for the turf dogs was Shayne Jackson if he does not make the NLL this year he will be a force to be reckoned with for the Turf Dogs as he had a phenomenal 2012 campaign in the WLA. Expect the Turfdogs to be a hardnosed team that will put a beating on opponents on the field as well as in the back of the net.
