Church keeps the faith alive in Edmonton, while Ward helps win one for the new Mammoth coaching staff in Week 11 of the NLL Rookie Report.
Robert Church had four points (3 G, 1 A) in the Edmonton Rush’s 10-9 defeat of the Vancouver Stealth. The righty forward capped off his first career NLL hat-trick by scoring the game-winner for the Rush.
Riley Loewen, who entered the weekend with a hot-hand offensively, was held scoreless for Edmonton.
Tyler Digby had yet another impressive showing for Vancouver, finishing with four points (1 G, 3 A) in a losing effort. Digby has been an absolute force for the Stealth throughout his inaugural NLL campaign registering 39 points (17 G, 22 A), second highest in team scoring.
Cody Bremner failed to record a point for the Stealth. This marked just the second game on the season the rookie has been blanked offensively, the other also coming in the form of a one-goal loss to the Edmonton Rush.
Defender Nick Weiss had an impressive stat line for the Stealth, finishing with one goal, 10 loose balls, and two forced turnovers.
Colorado Mammoth goalie Dillon Ward earned MVP honors in a 10-9 win over the Calgary Roughnecks, making 35 saves. After allowing five goals early, the rookie goaltender would remain stellar throughout including holding Calgary scoreless for an over 30 minutes of play.
Other notable rookie performances include Logan Schuss of the Minnesota Swarm. February’s NLL Rookie of the Month finished with three points (2 G, 1 A) in a 12-9 loss to the Buffalo Bandits. Roughnecks rookie Karsen Leung had one assist and seven loose balls in a loss to the Mammoth, while Philadelphia’s Garret Thul finished with one goal in a losing effort versus the Rochester Knighthawks.
