The National Lacrosse League is headed into week eight, but we still need to honor the best of the best from week seven, where we see a Canadian sweep.
Shawn Evans, Calgary Roughnecks
Evans scored just two goals in two games this weekend, but he also picked up a whopping 11 assists as Calgary defeated Minnesota but fell to Toronto. Evans has been the Roughnecks offensive leader all season. He also picked up 13 loose balls and forced three turnovers.
Mark Matthews, Edmonton Rush
Matthews is having himself a season. The top pick in the NLL draft had 11 goals and two assists this weekend for the Rush as they won back to back games to get to three wins on the season. If the Rush go anywhere, it will be because of the leadership of the offense from Matthews.
Garrett Billings, Toronto Rock
Billings scored six goals and three assists in one game this weekend for Toronto as the Rock defeated the Roughnecks. Billings has become one of the best facilitators in this league and can shoot and score as well as anyone. Even though they have Colin Doyle and Josh Sanderson, Billings might be their offensive quarterback.
