NLL Three Stars: Rush and Roughnecks

Only one game took place in the western conference this weekend with Calgary facing Edmonton, but several players stood out, including two stud rookies.

Michael Burke- Edmonton

Burke is a guy who kind of lost some stock in the draft but Derek Keenan has already said he will make the team according to Jason Gregor up in Edmonton. This has a lot to do with his three goal performance against the Roughnecks, scoring more than any Rush player in the game, earning him the top star here for the week.

Joe Resetarits- Calgary

Resetarits was the top pick for the Roughnecks and all he has done so far for them is dominate. After a strong showing against Colorado in Langley, he once again proved his worth as an NLL player against Edmonton on Sunday, scoring three goals with an assit.

Mike Poulin- Calgary

We saw a lot of scorers with two goals in the game, so we went with Mike Poulin who made 23 saves in two quarters of play for the Riggers. Coming off of a Goaltender of the Year season, Poulin looks for a repeat season as the most dominate goalie in the league.
