Ethan Farrell’s Philadelphia Wings were blown out by the Rochester Knighthawks yesterday. But before that, I caught up with him about the season so far for the Wings, and about being an American in the NLL.
1. What has the NLL experience been like?
Its been pretty awesome so far. Making it from Free Agent/Rookie camp to the Training Camps and getting a roster has been unbelievable. Just being able to suit up and play with legends like Brodie Merrill every weekend is pretty great.
2. What is it like playing in front of the Philly crowd?
The Philly fans are great. They hate losing just as much as we do, that is for sure. Its great having die hard fans at every practice and game!
3. What has your favorite part of the experience been?
Just suiting up every weekend and playing with and against the best box lacrosse players in the world has to be one of the greatest experiences in my life.
4. Do you enjoy playing in a mostly American team?
It is a lot of fun to suit up with a lot of great American lacrosse players. They bring a lot to the table and come to compete every weekend.
5. What do you think is the differences of American and Canadian players in the NLL?
The main difference is the amount of experience. Canadians have been playing box their entire life, so if something goes wrong they have instincts to fall back on. Us Americans are still learning the little ins and outs of the game so each game is a learning experience.
6. How do you feel about the start to the season?
We had a great start with two wins to open up the season. The last three we have lost, two pretty bad so we have to get the consistency and intensity we had in those games we won to get back on track.
