The Brooklin Redmen (10-7-1) are set to conclude their Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) regular season schedule with a pair of back to back games versus the Oakville Rock (2-13-1). The games will mark the third and fourth meeting between the teams, with the season series currently even at 1-1.
The Redmen are coming off back to back wins over the Brampton Excelsiors. Brooklin’s Derek Hopcroft will look to continue his hot hand as of late after posting a season high in both goals (5) as well as points (8) in the Redmen’s recent 14-10 victory versus the Excels.
Kyle Aquin will face off against his former Oakville teammates for the first time since being traded to the Redmen. Aquin, who scored the overtime winner in Oakville’s 7-6 victory over Brooklin, has 11 points in seven games with the Redmen.
After struggling in the franchise’s first season since relocating to Oakville, the Rock have already been mathematically eliminated from playoffs. Oakville will play four games in the final week of the regular season, taking on Six Nations and Peterborough after the pair of games versus Brooklin.
Brooklin will host game one of the home and home on Wednesday, July 24 before travelling to Oakville on Thursday, July 25. Face-off for both games is set for 8 p.m.
