Redmen look to remain undefeated

On Tuesday night the Brooklin Redmen fresh of a win over the Mann Cup Champions the Peterborough Lakers will take on the Kitchener Waterloo Kodiaks. This will be the Kodiaks first game of the 2013 season.

The Redmen got off to an impressive start with their 14-12 win over the Peterborough Lakers. The Redmen saw great performances from Gavin Prout and Shawn Williams who each had seven points on the night. The Redmens offense got off to a good start as 13 different players registered a point against the Lakers. Expect the Redmen to spread their offense out against the Kodiaks and get shots from multiple different angles.  Zack Higgins had a great performance against Peterborough posting a 9.00 G.A.A.  Higgins will need another solid performance against the Kodiaks.

The Kodiaks struggled last year posting a 5-8-1 record and will look to improve this season. The Kodiaks will be relying on Brendan Thenhaus, Andrew Potter, and Jesse Gamble. Expect the Kodiaks to be a scrappy team this year that on any given night could pull out a win. In net the Kodiaks will once again go with Evan Kirk. Kirk had a strong 2012 season as he posted a 8.61 G.A.A and a 0.792 save percentage. If Kirk can play like he did in 2012 and the Kodiaks can get more consistent offense they could be in the running to make the playoffs this year. Against the Redmen the Kodiaks will need put pressure on Zack Higgins and build an early lead. If the Kodiaks can get ahead early they can control the pace of the game and put themselves in a position to win the game.

The Redmen coming off their win against the Lakers will be riding high on momentum so it will be important for the Kodiaks to get off to a good start in order to stop the Redmen. In the end the Redmen will be able to overwhelm the Kodiaks defense and pull out the victory
