The Calgary Roughnecks have traded away last year’s number five overall pick Joe Resetarits to the Buffalo Bandits. The Bandits sent their 10th overall pick to the Roughnecks, who ended up being Victoria Shamrocks forward Karsen Leung. They also sent a second rounder in 2015.
Meanwhile, the Riggers send Resetarits and a third rounder from 2015 to the Bandits. Calgary traded Jackson Decker to Colorado early today too, removing a lot of their righty depth players.
Resetarits, a Buffalo native, will fit right in in a weaker right side for the Bandits. Derek Hopcroft, Aaron Wilson and Dhane Smith are the only righty forwards currently on their roster and there is a good chance Wilson will end up a free agent.
Last season Resetarits scored 24 points in 14 games, eight of them goals. The Bandits are continuing to try to get younger after missing the NLL playoffs last season with an aging roster.
