Today the Boston Rockhoppers open their training camp as they prepare for their season opener on January 5th against the Kentucky Stickhorses. Kevin Gould says to expect energy.
“I am looking forward to camp. In my experiences with training camp I think you can expect a huge amount of energy on the floor with guys trying to gain chemistry with others and guys trying to earn a roster spot. I think the majority if our roster is fairly experienced playing indoor so hopefully we are able to hit the ground running. We don’t know how many chances we will get to have the whole team together before January 5, so we really need to make the most of these camp days.”
The Rockhoppers played two games in the North American Lacrosse League last season, but the team is ready to go for the full season in 2013 with the three other teams.
“I am extremely excited about starting up this season with the Boston Rockhoppers.” said Gould. “There has been a lot of positive chatter about the league over the past year, and I know all the boys are excited to finally get it started.”
The team is practicing in Marlborough today for the first tome together for the 2013 season. Check back this week for interviews and updates from the camp.
“I think the owners, GM, and coaches have done a great job of getting the best possible group together to represent Boston.” finished Gould. “The staff was able to protect some guys in the off season and then with the draft, was able to pick up even more. Some of us were able to play together a bit this Fall and I know that will help us coming into camp and and going forward Into January.”
