Power Rankigs: RUSH(ing) to the Top

Another exciting weekend of action in the NLL. Junior’s overtime winner, Tyler Richards’ unbelievable save and the Bandits showing they are for real. This week looks just as exciting with five games on the schedule.

 

Power Rankings   Week 6

(2) 1—Edmonton Rush (4-0)  Fell behind 7-2, but outscored the Stealth 7-1 in the final 30 minutes to win 9-8. Matthews, Greer, Knight all with two goals. Bold was pulled after 16 seconds of the second quarter. Brodie MacDonald came in to get his first win of the season. Edmonton hosts Rochester Saturday night, 9 pm.

(3) 2—Buffalo Bandits (4-1)  Yes, the Bandits are for real. They out played the Knighthawks the first 45 minutes and almost let it get away as they won 11-10. Tavares four goals, Resetarits hat trick, Benesch six assists led the assault. The Bandits will host the Rock on Saturday night, 7:30 pm.

(1) 3—Rochester Knighthawks (3-1)  Knighthawks made a comeback in the final 15 minutes, but were outplayed in the first 45 minutes and lost 11-10. McCready and Jamieson each with hat tricks. Dan Dawson left game prior to halftime with an undisclosed injury. Knighthawks travel to Edmonton to face the Rush Saturday, 9 pm.

(3) 4—Toronto Rock (1-2)   Toronto was off this week, but return to action as the host the Stealth on Friday night, then shuffle off to Buffalo for a 7:30 pm Saturday night game.

(7) 5—Philadelphia Wings (2-3)  Idle this past weekend. Will look to build on the solid win over Minnesota two weeks ago. The Wings can take advantage as the Stealth come to visit after playing in Toronto the night before. Wings host the Stealth 7:30 pm Saturday.

(5) 6—Calgary Roughnecks (2-3) Played from behind most of the game, but never trailed by more then 3. After tying the game with 8:09 to go both goalies went on lockdown until Grant Jr. scored in the OT. Calgary
is idle this week.

(6) 7—Vancouver Stealth (2-3)  Only showed up for the first 30 minutes of the game, jumping out to a 7-1 lead but were invisible the final 30, being outscored 7-2. Duch with three goals and Ratcliff with two goals.  Back to Back weekend for the Stealth.  Friday they visit Toronto, and Saturday night they visit Philadelphia.

(8) 8—Minnesota Swarm (1-3) Was idle this past weekend. Will look to get back on the winning track as they visit the Mammoth Saturday night 9 pm.

(9) 9—Colorado Mammoth (2-5)   Dillon Ward now has both wins. Mammoth played a full 60 minutes to win 14-13 in OT, Adam Jones’ seven goals and John Grant Jr.’s hat trick (game winner) led the way for the Mammoth. Colorado hosts Minnesota Saturday night 9 pm.
